How to play
Two players, one hidden chain. Get from start to target by naming players who were teammates — each name must have shared a club, in the same seasons, with the player before him.
Par is the shortest chain that exists. You get par + 3 guesses — right or wrong, every guess costs one.
Names suggest themselves as you type — arrows and Enter to pick, or just type it out. It's there so you don't have to spell Spanoulis; it lists every player we hold whose name matches and never says which of them actually links, so the puzzle is still yours to solve. A surname is enough when it's unique, and accents don't matter. A name we can't place isn't a guess and costs you nothing.
Give up reveals a shortest route. On the Daily it asks once before it commits, and records a loss — but it still counts as played, so your hub streak survives.
The career lines under your current player and the target are your map: find where two paths crossed.
Each player can appear in the chain only once — don't route yourself into a dead end.

How to play
Two players. Their careers cross at exactly one club — name it.
You get 3 guesses, and the fewer you use the better the win.
They did not have to be teammates. Both wore the shirt; it may have been twenty years apart. (Overlapping years are Path Between's game.)
There is only ever one right answer. A pair is only used if it shares one single club out of every club we hold — so if you can think of two, one of them isn't in our data.
The answer is always a EuroLeague club or a club with real retired greats — never a player's stop in Australia or the NBA, even though we know about those.

Frequently asked questions
Why was my answer rejected when the player really did fit?
The Grid only accepts well-travelled players and legends whose full career is in the database. A newcomer still at his first club will be turned down even when he genuinely fits — a rule that keeps every offered name accurately checkable in both directions.
What is an Immaculate?
Filling all nine cells without a single wrong guess. It is a badge on the result, not a separate mode.
Can two cells take the same player?
No. Each player can appear once on the board. That constraint is what makes the shared-answer cells hard: two neighbouring cells may have almost the same answer list between them.
Can I give up on the Daily?
Yes. Give up fills each empty cell with one answer that would have fitted, and asks once before it commits since there is no second grid that day. It records a loss for The Grid but still counts as played, so the hub streak survives.

Colours run easiest → hardest, and the themes change from puzzle to puzzle:
A club's current roster
A nationality — or all guards / forwards / centers
A Final Four five, everyone at one Final Four, or a birth decade
Club legends, ex-players of a club, a shared jersey number, the 2.10 m club, or journeymen
Each puzzle has exactly one group of each colour.
Tips
“One away…” means three of your four picks belong to the same group.
Watch for red herrings — a nationality, an old club or a jersey number can lure you into the wrong group.
Shuffle rearranges the tiles; Deselect all clears your picks.
